In 1993, Attorney Heather W. Tootle received a Bachelor of Arts from Wittenberg University. Also, in 1993, Heather was selected to study in the United Nations global issues program in Geneva, Switzerland. She also studied at the Vatican in Italy, and in Germany, France, England, and Ireland. In 1996, Heather graduated from Capital University Law School and passed the Ohio Bar Exam. In 1997, she passed the Federal Bar Exam. In 1996, Heather practiced personal injury law, estate planning, bankruptcy law, and served as the founder and managing attorney for the family law section of the law firm of Bressman & Sotak. In 1998, Heather opened the Law Office of Heather W. Tootle. Heather decided to exclusively concentrate her practice in the area of family law and related matters. Only three years after she started practicing law, Heather was nominated by her peers and chosen by the Columbus Bar Association for the Barrister Leader Program. In addition to almost 10 years of practicing family law, Heather has extensive experience in the court system. She was chosen as a law clerk for Supreme Court of Ohio Senior Judge Andrew Douglas. She was also a law clerk to Judge Michael Higgins and Judge Thomas Marcelain in the Licking County Municipal Court. Further, Heather served as an intern prosecutor in the Obetz Mayor's court. Heather represented several indigent clients while working in the Capital Law School Legal Clinic. For the past four years, Heather has served as the Chairperson of the Columbus Bar Association's section of the Family Law Committee Continuing Legal Education. She has planned, or participated as a speaker, in the Columbus Bar Association's family law seminars for the past four years. Heather also volunteers with the Street Law program teaching 6th graders law related topics. In addition to working as an attorney, Heather enjoys being a mother and playing soccer with her husband.
